Iran’s Social Landscape (4): The Universal Solidarity of Socialists

This text is a summary of the 35th online program of the “Woman, Life, Freedom Forum” addressing the topic of “Iran’s Social Perspective” and universal solidarity. In this program, Alireza Behtoui and Keyvan Mohtadi discussed fundamental questions about socialism, patriotism, and the possibility of forming an inclusive front in Iranian society.
Iran’s Social Landscape (3): Why the Third Voice?

The topic “Iran’s Social Perspective: Why the Third Voice?” examines the concept of the “third voice or line” in the context of Iranian social developments. This discussion seeks answers to fundamental questions: Is this discourse a momentary reaction or is it rooted in the history of Iranian social movements? What does this voice have to do with civil society, solidarity, and social self-governance? And can Iranian society this time take control of its own destiny from the monopoly of the ruling and conflicting powers? In this program, sociologist Mehrdad Darvishpour and political philosopher Mohammad Reza Nikfar discussed and analyzed these concepts and their crystallization in the current state of society.
Iran’s Social Landscape (1): We’re Concerned about the Fate of Iran

Woman, Life, Freedom Forum – 32nd Event (Online)
Why are we “Deeply Concerned about the Fate of Iran”?
What are the main concerns raised by the statement “We’re Concerned about the Fate of Iran” about the current situation in Iran?
What is the position of the concept of “the right to self-determination” in this statement? What is the background and context of the call for a free referendum and the formation of a constituent assembly? And what is its purpose?
What vision do the signatories of this statement envision for the Iranian society, and why do they emphasize the “third way”?
Given their belief that authoritarian regimes are unwilling to hold referendums, what are the proposed solutions for achieving democratic goals and a peaceful transition in Iran?
Friday, 8 August 2025, we will be discussing these questions with Parastou Forouhar and Mohammad Seifzadeh in an event titled “Iran’s Social Outlook (1): We’re Concerned about the Fate of Iran”.
