On Friday, April 5, the Amsterdam Central Library will host the book launch of “Teaching Gender Equality in the Classroom” with the presence of Dr. Saeed Paivandi, author of the book, Mansoureh Shojaei, critic and reviewer of the book, and Maryam Mirza, journalist and civil society activist. The book Teaching Gender Equality in the Classroom evaluates gender inequality in Iran’s educational system based on quantitative and qualitative analysis of Iranian textbooks. Its primary concern is participating in a national debate on inequality between men and women in education and society and practical ways to deal with it in the classroom and within the family. This book is an essential achievement of cooperation with the “Zamimeh” group, which works to remove gender discrimination from Iranian textbooks.
