🗣 In Persian: See the Event in Persian (فارسی)
🎙 Conversation with: Mansoureh Shojaee
In the fifth session of Khandani-ha: Conversations with Books, we read and reflect on The Impact of Inequality, (link to the english book) a book that brings evidence, clarity, and urgency to one of today’s most pressing questions. Written by British researchers Richard Wilkinson and Kate Pickett, the book has shaped public debates around health, trust, and the social costs of inequality.
Mazdak Daneshvar, social history researcher with a medical background and academic training in medical anthropology and translator of the Persian edition, joins us to talk about the book’s arguments, its relevance, and what it means to bring such a work into Persian. His conversation with Mansoureh Shojaee, writer, critic, and long-time friend of Iran Academia and Khandani-ha, will explore both the book and the translation.
🎥 A video message from Richard Wilkinson, recorded especially for this event, will open the evening sharing the authors’ motivation and the impact of their research.
⏰ Doors open at 18:00. Program starts at 18:30 and ends at 20:00.
