Profiles

Nonviolent civil resistance has occurred in various forms and by different social actors, women, youth or intellectuals, throughout modern and contemporary Iranian history. However, understanding exactly how this civil resistance has been successful and remained nonviolent is a challenge. This talk sets out to examine the causes, courses and consequences of nonviolent civil resistance in Iran in the past hundred and thirty years.

This lecture is held by the International Institute of Social History (IISG) in Amsterdam and within the framework of Farmanfarmaian’s annual lecture series.

This form is currently closed for submissions. This event was scheduled for 1 March, 2024 15:30 PM
