51st Event
Discussion: Thursday, 30 July 2026
Experts: Mohammad Reza Nikfar, Mehrdad Vahabi, and Ali Porsan
Following requests from a number of friends to hold a program at the Women, Life, Freedom Forum on the topic of “Reflecting on Community-centered Paradigm and the Iranian Diaspora’s Role,” we decided to discuss this topic in a brainstorming session among a limited group and then publish its recording like other forum programs.
Topics:
- The main and real agent of change in Iran: Iranian society or outside forces?
- Where does the power of society begin, and how can the diaspora be part of the power of society?
- If we consider Iranian society incapable of change, what role is left for the diaspora?
- If we want to talk about a “community-centered paradigm,” what image of society, diaspora, and the relationship between the two does this paradigm present, and what new horizons does it open up before us?
- How can the diaspora contribute to the empowerment of society without becoming a substitute for it?
- Isn’t it time to rethink the role of the Iranian diaspora in our mental models?
