- In circumstances where society faces deep crises (political, social, and the threat of war), what does “community empowerment” essentially mean? What role can women play in this context that other forces cannot?
- IHas women’s lived experience of oppression, discrimination, and resistance shaped a different understanding of “social human capability” and “community empowerment”? f so, how can this difference be generalized to the entire society?
- At a time when a large portion of society’s energy is spent resisting crises, how can one simultaneously think about “reconstruction” and “empowerment”? What is the role of women in the midst of this?
- Is it possible for unequal and patriarchal patterns to be reproduced and reinforced even in the heart of these crises and under the pressure of physical and psychological trauma and the destruction of war? How can women, and together with them the whole of society, challenge and change these patterns while participating?
- To what extent is community empowerment by women an individual project (e.g., self-awareness, independence, skills) and to what extent is it a collective and structural project? How can these two levels be linked together?
- If we want to think about a future and a horizon beyond the crisis: what are the characteristics of an empowered society? What key role can women play in shaping this horizon?
