Marking March 8, International Women’s Day, a group of feminist activists with a cross approach to women’s rights and committed to the revolutionary movement, “Woman, Life, Freedom”, drafted the women’s rights bill with the title “Women’s Rights Bill; A Proposal for Iran’s Feminist Solidarity for Woman, Life, Freedom”. The objective of compiling this bill on the official website has been described as:
This group, with an intersectional feminist approach, identifies and examines the structures that have historically damaged the rights, dignity and positions of women in patriarchal societies. Also, with a point of view based on the demands of the movement and the values of Woman, Life, Freedom, and with the aim of eradicating all historical and intersecting forms of domination, including sexual, racial, class, imperialism, etc., they are moving towards the revolutionary demand.
It should be noted that in recent months, other charters have been published. The “Comprehensive Rights Charter of Academics for the Woman-Life-Freedom Revolution“, the “Minimum Demands” charter from trade unions, and the “Iranian LGBTQ+ Community Manifesto” are also among the charters that have been published in the form of protests and social movements in Iran and the realization of rights. They pursue citizenship, gender and sexual equality, freedom of speech and opinion, minority rights, etc.
