Mehrdad Amanat holds a Ph.D. in history form UCLA and is the author of Jewish Identities in Iran, Resistance and Conversion to Islam and the Baha’i Faith, 2011, and “Set in Stone: Homeless Corpses and Desecrated Graves in Modern Iran”, International Journal of Middle East Studies, vol. 44, no. 4, 2012. Among his contributions to Encyclopedia Iranica is “Kashan History to the Pahlavi Period.”
