- When we talk about “power” in Iran, what exactly are we talking about? And how do we understand it? Should power be sought only in the government, official institutions, and security structures?
- If Iran’s future is not pre-written, what are the most likely scenarios for the transition of power in the coming years? What forces and variables could change Iran’s trajectory from one scenario to another?
- Where does society come into play in these scenarios? Is society simply an object of power, or can it be considered one of the influential actors and creators? Will it become the future power of Iran?
- If there are several different futures possible for Iran, what assets should the Iranian society focus on today to increase its resilience, capability , and capacity for collective action?
- And finally, is the main issue in Iran simply “who will hold power,” or is the more fundamental question “how will power be distributed, contained, held accountable, and balanced with the power of society?”
