What happens when something happens? Is it the phenomenon of reality on us that changes, or reality itself? What happens when something unexpected and surprising disrupts the normal course of affairs, something that seems to have arisen out of nowhere and without discernible causes? In our current world, which is constantly changing, how can we know whether something new has really happened or not? Can philosophy help us understand what an event is, and how it is possible? And finally, can an event become a phenomenon? As if it did not happen at all?
