Joel Hanisek

Dr. Joel Hanisek is a Research Fellow at the Irish Centre for Human Rights, School of Law, University of Galway where he works on the BILQIS European Research Council project investigating conceptual and methodological expertise for the study of gender, agency and authority in Islam. Previously he was Policy & Programme Manager for Scholars at Risk Europe, where he managed the EU-funded Inspireurope and Inspireurope+ projects and supported the activities of SAR sections across Europe. He holds a Ph.D. from the School of Religion, Trinity College Dublin.
