Shirin Ebadi is a lawyer, former court judge, human rights activist, university lecturer, Iranian author and one of the founders of the Center for Human Rights Defenders and the Association for the Protection of Children’s Rights. She is the first female judge in Iran who was the head of the court and the only Iranian who received the Nobel Peace Prize.
