This article explores the subjective aspects of sociopolitical transformations in Iran. It examines the 1979 revolution alongside the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement of 2022. The article seeks a leitmotif that serves as the backdrop for the characteristic mottos of both movements. It emphasizes the duality of “community-society” (Gemeinschaft-Gesellschaft) to explain the changes in Iran’s imaginary world.
