Abstract

The value of a work of art, be it in terms of seeing, hearing, or reading a literary work, is measured in such a way that after experiencing it, one cannot be the same person as before. That work affects the audience’s experiences, knowledge, and attitude towards life. Other experiences and thoughts add to their knowledge and experiences. Along with the two elements of truth and believability, which are the most essential in an artistic and literary work, it sits in the audience’s mind. It engages them in the subject and characters. In the meantime, cinema is considered one of the most influential arts, whether in the field of making documentaries or fiction films. The story of the film, staging, dialogues, acting, and visual techniques are considered essential elements of a movie. In the meantime, making a successful film based on the life of a historical and political figure is not easy, as it requires historical awareness, artistic taste, and, most importantly, honesty in portraying and conveying the facts. The purpose of this article is to review Hannah Arendt’s 2012 Israeli film for one hour and fifty-three minutes from the perspective of verifying the dialogues and characterization of Hannah Arendt, this political, historical figure and theorist of the political philosophy of the 20th century.
