Preaching Hate: An analysis of gendered hate speech in Jomeh sermons in Iran

This paper investigates the propagation of hate against women and the LGBTI community through religiopolitical sermons. The role of Imam Jomeh preaching is studied and analyzed in terms of theories of charisma and the construction and influence of formal and informal types of authority.
